Previously, in the context of my PhD. in computer graphics (under the supervision of F. X. Sillion and X. Décoret ), I was working on optimized object representations with the goal of accelerating common tasks in computer graphics.
We focused on efficient solutions for a large spectrum of applications; soft-shadows, simplification, visibility queries and voxelization.

The goal of our work was the creation of real-time effects in complex scenes.
The key observation in this context is that a scene has to be represented in an adapted manner. We thus explore alternative representations and new ways of interpreting tasks differently. Possibilities as well as restrictions on modern graphics hardware play an important role in our considerations but our goal is to provide long lasting solutions.

Other research directions in computer graphics that I am interested in include computational photography and global illumination.
