The vintage engine (left) is drawn using five different style modules that emphasize a subset of objects. Standard technical illustration conventions are used to draw creases in white and silhouettes in black. In addition to the visible lines, we also draw lines that are hidden by other objects through a selection using the visibility information about occluders. Lines delineating self-occluded parts of these objects are drawn with dashed lines. Finally, the remainder of the scene is simplified, drawing only the longest strokes in a lighter tone.
